Powers and Functions of the School Management Committee
(As per CBSE Norms)
Subject to the overall control of the Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education, the School Managing Committee shall have the following powers and functions:
- Supervise the activities of the school for its smooth functioning.
- Work according to the specific directions given by the Siddhartha Academy regarding admission policy. Admissions will be made strictly on merit, without discretion of caste, creed, religion, or region.
- Look into the welfare of teachers and employees of the school.
- Evolve both short‑term and long‑term programmes for the improvement of the school.
- Make appointments of teachers and non‑teaching staff.
- Exercise financial powers beyond those delegated to the Principal, within the school’s budgetary provisions.
- Review academic programmes and progress of the school without jeopardising the academic freedom of the Principal.
- Guide the Principal to maintain tone and discipline in the school.
- Ensure adherence to norms given in the State Act and CBSE regarding service conditions and rules for recognition/affiliation.
- Ensure provision of furniture, science equipment, library books, teaching aids, and sports material in adequate quantity and on time.
- Exercise powers to take disciplinary action against staff.
- Sanction leave to the Head of the Institution, including casual leave.
- Ensure that no financial irregularity or irregular procedure in admissions/examinations is committed.
- Propose tuition fees and other annual charges to the Siddhartha Academy, and review the school budget presented by the Principal for approval.
- Meet at least twice in an academic session.
